Chonny and Clyde

Chonny and Clyde is an acoustic project from Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria) and his wife Chondra Echert.  While originally not intending to release Celesti in November of 2017, they released the three track EP in hopes of inspiring people donate to help Puerto Rico after being hit by Hurricane Maria. Releasing the EP under a “Name Your Price” Bandcamp page, they raised over $12,000. 100% of their earnings went directly to Unidos Por Puerto Rico, an initiative brought forth by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló, to support those affected. The couple said, "In light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and subsequent delayed governmental response, we decided that these songs we’d written with the intent to include on a Chonny and Clyde album would be better served in the here and now to help our brothers and sisters in PR to rebuild and heal… The ocean is never too wide to cross for one another in times of disaster." The EP released shortly after to the general public via Sanchez’s own Evil Ink Records. The 3-song EP is like looking out over a pond with a cool breeze while reflecting on less than perfect times. It’s like existential comfort food, and Sanchez’ enchanting voice gives you the feeling that we’re going to get through it all.  Echert’s dreamy accompaniments enhance and enrich at every turn.
